Kids, this is your opportunity organize and run a community food drive!
Our food drive is organized into 5 steps:
Make sure you have your parents permission and register your food drive to get started.
Visit your local grocery store and ask for the number of bags you’ll need to distribute to your neighborhood.
Distribute grocery bags with a note attached explaining your food drive.
Collect the grocery bags from your neighbors porches and deliver to your local food bank.
Distribute thank you notes to your neighbors and share your results with us!
When you register your food drive we’ll provide you with a few tools that will make your job a bit easier including:
501c3 letter to bring to your grocery store
sample request letter for your bags
sample thank you letters
Note to Parents: Our goal is to let kids do the most good possible on their own, so we encourage you to let your kids run the show. They may need transportation and depending on their age may need your watchful eye (crossing the street, talking to neighbors, etc.) but remember this is their opportunity to experience the hard work and joy that comes from the act of giving.
